Join our small and dedicated team and make a difference in the lives of newcomers to Canada as they build their new lives. Your English skills and your experience of living in Canada are truly priceless to them. Here are a few things you should know:

You pick the day and time that fits your schedule
Please choose the day and time most convenient for you, as the circles are drop-in. Once participants get used to a schedule, it can be difficult to change it so we try to avoid changes.

Criminal record check is required
You’ll be working with a vulnerable population, for whom life in Canada can feel confusing and very different from what they are used to. For this reason, a Criminal Record Check is required. The good news is that it’s free and simple to complete.

What do you get in return
Besides our heartfelt gratitude, you will receive a volunteer certificate and strong references, but most importantly, you’ll gain the appreciation and thanks of your students. This is an incredibly fulfilling role—many who start as volunteers find themselves leading conversation circles for years to come.
