aboutus

The Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Katzie Community Literacy Committee (CLC) promotes and supports adult, community and family literacy. The CLC coordinates and provides leadership for literacy initiatives in our communities. It operates the Learning Room at the CEED Centre Neighbourhood House as an outreach office by appointment.

our story

The Fraser Information Society formally incorporates under the British Columbia Societies Act on October 22, 1984. It becomes a Registered Charity under federal legislation on August 19, 1988. It changes its name to the CEED Centre Society on January 20, 2006.

It's first proclamation as a charitable organization reads as main goal to educate the community to become media literate and to encourage communications within the community.

Our Team.

Our literacy and outreach work is powered by a small but deeply dedicated team. With passion, creativity, and a strong commitment to community, we support learners on their journey to stronger language skills while building connections that foster belonging and inclusion.

The heart of our team is our wonderful volunteers, who generously share their English language skills with newcomers to Canada. Through their patience, encouragement, and friendship, they help newcomers build confidence, improve their English, and take important steps toward starting a new life filled with opportunities, connections, and community.

Do you want to join our wonderful team? Volunteer with us!
